Possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
Under direct supervision of the RN circulator, the surgical technologist may assist with delegated circulator tasks.
ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION High School diploma Current Operating Room Technician Certification through a CAAHEP or ABHES Accredited program and maintenance of the CST credential Applicant may be grandfathered with documented one year (cumulative) of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a surgical facility in the previous four years prior to January 1, 2015 EXPERIENCE Previous experience in an operating room preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Conducting self in a professional manner Demonstrating professional competence by maintaining applicable certifications and educational mandates Communicates with a positive and caring attitude Demonstrates ability to perform work in an accurate and timely manner Recommended Skills Asepsis Friendliness Health Care Maintenance Nursing Operating Theater Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
