They focus on employee relations, employee engagement, organizational culture, and corporate employee communication between all branch offices and within the branch office.
They work with the Employee Relation Manager to coordinate and direct the employee relations programs and functions, including partnering with senior level and executive level staff throughout the organization to get input on HR decisions and design of strategy for organizational culture.
They provide expertise to support staff development.
The incumbent will have experience supervising staff and will develop experience in managing the various areas within employee relations.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
First point of contact for supervisors, and managers for the branch office questions.
Work closely with division mangers to solution questions and issues.
Monitor and look for ways to improve HR operational and corporate strategy regarding employee relations.
Recommend program goals and objectives in various areas of employee relations, including coordination of employee engagement activities and corporate events according to established guidelines, budget, and sound administrative practices.
Promote the NYCM culture, and core values while following NYCM established policies and guidelines.
Recognize and handle personnel issues.
Work with all levels of management to execute disciplinary action for non-compliance of the NYCM Progressive Discipline policy including termination when necessary.
Monitor employee engagement.
Create reports to record progress and report status to various managers.
Monitor employee engagement through the eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) survey.
Monitor and foster organizational culture, and corporate employee communication between all branch offices, through collaboration and strong relationship building with supervisors and managers throughout the organization.
Coordinate new employee orientations with the People Development/recruiting team.
Administer Qualifying Leaves of Absence requests.
Conduct exit interviews and share results with key stakeholders looking for opportunities to enhance future employee experiences.
Investigate problems such as working environment and employee morale issues.
Provide recommendations for resolutions to the Employee Relations Business Unit Manager.
Coach and mentor managers, supervisors, and employees in various situations.
Follow up with employees to make sure coaching and mentoring is effective and employees are utilizing the tools provided.
Make sure all NYCM policies are followed and documented with consistency.
Follow- up with Employee Relations Business Unit Manager as needed.
Responsible for making sure corporate communication and Branch office communication is consistent, efficient, effective, and complete.
Join corporate and/or divisional teams when necessary, representing the needs of the Branch office.
Lead or assist in developing and maintaining projects that help the employee relations team and NYCM move forward in a positive direction.
High-level understanding and knowledge of human resources and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, rights, and responsibilities.
Draft and/or recommend revisions to company policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Assisting and organizing training programs for employees as needed.
Coordinate opening and closing of the building.
Work with Facilities and/or building owner to coordinate appropriate routine and non-routine building maintenance and ensuring the safety of the employees (including building upgrades, snow removal, ice mitigation, general cleaning, office supplies, etc.
).
Work closely with ERM and facilities to maintain a secure work environment.
Monitor and coordinate safety related items with the Safety Analyst and ERM.
Coordinate Risk Management and disaster planning with ERM.
Monitor visitor access (as backup to Facilities).
This includes assisting with the Lotus Notes Building access approval cycles.
Coordinate office environment activities and HR sponsored events/programs.
Coordinate collection and distribution of employee Benefit documents and information between the Branch office and Edmeston HR office.
Work with vendors such as Vending Machines and those that deliver items such as water and rugs.
Work with building owner (Canajoharie Office) to coordinate building access for employees and visitors, building concerns and contract renewals.
Prepare and reconcile various financial statements and petty cash.
Requirements:
High School Diploma 2 years of related experience Preferred Education &
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or closely related field Supervisor/managerial experience Skills &
Qualifications:
High level understanding of human resource laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, listening, problem solving, organizational, and supervisory skills and the ability to have authentic conversations.
Must possess interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, including tact to handle sensitive matters.
Must deal with personal matters in confidential, objective, and professional matter.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment, evaluate situations and come to a sound resolution, make routine decisions.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a variety of situations and prepare a variety of written documents.
Honesty, ethical and integrity.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with ability to utilize Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Available to work additional hours as business needs dictate.
Ability to multi-task in stressful conditions, think logically, and work as a team player.
Payband 6E / 40 hours per week Salary:
$55,844 - $76,011 Accepting applications through:
8/30/23.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
