Electrical Enginieer

Cobham is seeking an Electrical Engineer who researches, designs, develops and tests electrical/electronic systems, products, components, and applications for space, military and commercial aerospace and related applications. This is a senior-level position requiring demonstration of complete understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques within the electrical/electronic engineering and related disciplines. This position is located in Orchard Park, NY. Key Responsibilities: Conceptualize, design, test and document electrical/electronic hardware systems and their requirements. Technical leadership for new product design, related software, production test equipment. Technical support and redesign of existing products. Creates selection criteria; selects electrical/electronic and related components. Interface with procurement and suppliers to develop custom components. Responsible for requirements management. Key contributor to technical evaluations. Key contributor to technical product proposals. Writes product and functions specifications; manuals. Provide engineering assistance and troubleshooting to production, service and repair personnel.  Coordinates and conducts testing. Writes acceptance test procedures and qualification test plans. Guides assembly of prototypes. Contributed to integrated product development teams to optimize designs and verify electrical/electronic system performance. Contribute to preparation of Project Initiation Forms, Work Breakdown Structures, Engineering Change Requests, Non-Conformance Reports. May have Material Review Board authority. Contributes to Life Cycle Management activities. May coordinate work, and/or assist in orienting and training, of engineering technicians, junior engineers or designers. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. 5 years+ of related electrical/electronic design experience. Proficiency in use of common electrical test equipment (DVMs, analyzers, waveform generators, power supplies) Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to function in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary engineering environment. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Preferred Qualifications: Electro-mechanically inclined, preferred. Professionally experienced in four, or more, of the following areas: Analog design Digital electronics design Embedded microprocessor/DSP design and peripheral interfacing Structured microprocessor software/firmware design Standard Operating Framework for Engineering DFSS Design for EMC/EMI/ESD for military applications Professionally experienced in three, or more, of the following Schematic capture PCB layout SPICE simulation C/C++ Ability to use of a personal computer (analysis software, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications); and demonstrated proficiency in Excel. Application of six sigma design and lean manufacturing techniques, strongly preferred Strong interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, team working). Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to function in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary engineering environment. Excellent time management skills, with the demonstrated management of multiple tasks and priorities. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
