Project Analyst

Cobham is seeking a Project Analyst that will be responsible for providing support services to projects and programs to enable their managers to make decisions based on good quality information. Working as part of a PMO team, these services will be provided to several projects concurrently and will include administration, processing data and producing information and reports as well as updating PM documents, logs and registers. This position is located in Orchard Park, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture and process lessons learned from the LCM process, and the close of a project (creating a lessons learned list).
Provide direct support to projects.
Administrative and logistical activities.
Able to analyze and provide reports on project data for monthly reporting cycles and dashboard reports; utilizing data housed within Oracle and Deltek platforms.
Support the tracking, updating and reporting progress and or variance on all aspects of the Project to include financials (EAC, ETC), project plans (IMS), work breakdown structures (WBS), project risk registers and LCM adherence with project reporting calendar to both internal and external customers.
Maintain information on CAT 2 and 3 projects concerning risks, issues, plans, actuals, costs and quality outcomes through the prevailing logs and registers.
Advise the project manager of any trends, deviations and exception; and work in collaboration when appropriate on recommendations.
Configuration management and version control support on various project management documents.
Frequent and extensive communication with stakeholders on status, deliverables, requirements, and issues as expected. Qualified at PPM Level 5 (PMI CAPM) within 2-years.
Minimum Requirements:
BS/BA degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 1 year of experience with scheduling or cost analysis.
Minimum 1 year of experience scheduling or analysis - numerical and analytical capabilities to draw conclusions from data.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year advanced experience of software tools including: MS Excel, Project and an ERP system (Oracle preferred).
Goal orientation balancing task, team and individual needs to achieve the right outcomes.
Good interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, team working).
Drive, enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to develop.
Methodical and organized.
Analytical and highly numerate.
An ability to work as part of a virtual team.

Demonstrable PMO competences based on the Cobham PPM Job Family.
Service oriented.
Experience with working in a business environment as part of a team.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
